The birth of BikerSkylla

Like I said in the About page, I first discovered the name Scylla in a fantasy novel. Later a got a tattoo about it. For me, I think of Scylla or Skylla as a part of myself like Mr. Hyde. In Greek mythology Skylla was a woman who was poisoned by a jealous other woman. Due to that she’s a sea monster and has six dog heads out of the abdomen.

Another myth is that there are no female motorcyclist, but here I’m a Biker. I drive since I was old enough for one that was faster then 100 km/h. The first few years and the last four during that twelve years I only had a motorcycle and no car. Since 2017 I have this Ducati Monster 821.

Arriving at the destination after a long drive

So I drive more to get from A to B then “useless” circles. And often the weather then isn’t what others would call Biker weather. But I love to drive with a real destination where people are waiting and I will need luggage. I even love to drive while there’s snow around. Tomorrow I get my bike back form the shop where they finally installed heated handles.

Scylla is my monster persona or my own personal hell I would think. A monster that eats your sailors when you come to close. BikerSkylla is an old pseudonym I first had on a dating site. So following are photos that could me on one.

And no, I didn’t drive with only the dress. I had pants with protection in it, a leather jacket with protectors and a kidney belt. During the gathering I stuffed it in my tank bag. I now know kidney belt are not common for bikers in other countries, but for me it’s essential. Especially when I can’t zip the pants to the jacket. Then there’s this gap where the headwind hits the kidneys to much in my opinion.

And yes I need glasses for driving cause one of my eyes is not good enough. In normal day I must admit I don’t wear the glasses due to inconvenience. And I can read everything near and distance. Only 3D is the problem, cause my brain uses only the right eye focus.

Traveling to a Biergarten and the Thuringian forest with slate houses

I used to not liking how I looked, but love the somewhat more intelligent look now. The first year I needed the glasses I even had a special one-year contact lens made. But didn’t use it enough for another one.

The first and last image are just one of my cool travel occasions.
PS:
Stands for Pferdestärken not Post Scriptum or not?
The remaining question is who has the real horse power in the first picture?

Stay tuned. Stay curious. Stay healthy.
