Maybe you have seen some of my videos on YouTube about Lego and today is the day I can show you why I uploaded them. Lego – Easy way to inner peace!
I wrote a guest article about Lego motorcycles for the German Website zusammengebaut.com. In his free time my boyfriend is a writer there and posted the article for me. It’s mostly about the Lego Creator 3in1 31135 (14,99$) and the Lego Technic 42132 (9,99$), the Lego motorcycles I have. But we also talk about other Lego motorcycles from today and the past. The first one was a gift from my boyfriend at the zusammengebaut fair in May and the second one I bought seven times in total to gift them to every kid I know cause it’s black and red like my Ducati Monster 821.
With this arictle I’m officially an AFOL (adult fan of Lego). There are a whole lot of acronyms for the Lego world and I’m constantly learning something new. To build a set or let your creativity build a MOC (my own creation) brings you to a state of mind that’s focused but relaxed easier then meditating. And you have something in your hands afterwards, so I highly recommend to try out things you did as a child.

My first Lego Set after the dark ages was the Lego Creator 3in1 31128 also a gift from my boyfriend. He was very smooth in hooking me up with Lego so I would accept his nerdy hobby. He brought it with him when he first visted me in my home for a few days (we live 500km apart at the moment, so visits always include sleepovers). Following are two of the 3in1 31128 Models, I build on a cozy evening when I was alone again.

I liked the sea horse most, but it kept falling from is pedestal. So I decided to go with the whale and the sea turtle for my new decoration. ©Leonie Hogh
The dark ages are the time between being a child and playing with Lego and the time you discover Lego again as an adult, most of the fans have some time where other hobbies and interests where more important than Lego.
During my absence at work my colleagues did a teamwork activity by building something (I think thereselfs in the office) out of Lego and one of them even thought of me, so they used a place holder minifigure for me. So Lego has it’s purpose everywhere.
- When was the last time you played with something like Lego?
- What did you build?
- What are your hobbies as a child and as an adult?
Feel free to leave some feedback in German or English 🙂
